Crail Medical Practice

Welcome to our Practice. We aim to provide a high standard of professional and quality care to all our patients.

We work very closely with our multi disciplinary team of community nurses, pharmacists, health visitors, community link worker and money advisors.

This website has been developed to help our patients manage their health and well being with access to local services in your area, as well as provide information about the Practice.

Changes During Coronavirus Pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to make some changes to the way we deliver our services.

The practice is open and we are working hard to balance the health needs of patients against the risk of coronavirus transmission. To reduce the risk of infection to both patients and staff our doors are closed, but we are still open. I would like to reassure you that face to face appointments are available where clinically necessary.

Please do not come down to the practice unless we have asked you. All enquiries should be made by telephone. If you want to book an appointment please call at 8.30am as normal.

When you first get in contact to make an appointment, you need to tell the staff if you, or someone that you live with, are displaying any coronavirus symptoms. This is the same whether you have had a test or not.

The doctor will call you and may offer a video consultation or bring you down to the practice for a face to face consultation if appropriate. Patients will only receive a face-to-face appointment if necessary, for physical examination or if tests need to be carried out.

If you have been asked to attend the surgery for an appointment, please wear a face mask or covering to the surgery. Please observe 2 metre physical distancing from others and you may need to wait outside.

When you order your prescription, let us know which pharmacy you would like it to go to. Pharmacy’s collect from the practice once a day. Please give your pharmacy enough time to prepare your prescription before collection.

Acceptable behaviour

We have been experiencing increasing incidences of  hostility towards the practice team and we would like to stress that any form of violence and aggression, including verbal hostility- towards staff is completely unacceptable.  Please think before you speak/act.    We operate a zero tolerance policy.  If you are abusive you will be asked to find another GP practice.

Demand for access to GP’s across Greater Glasgow and Clyde is exceptional at present.  This practice is no different, please keep this in mind when dealing with the practice. Thank you for your co-operation and patience at this time.
