Prescription Policy

Please allow two full working days before collecting your repeat prescription. For example requests made after 3.30pm, weekends or a public holiday, are actioned by the staff on the next working day, i.e ordered Saturday, next working day Monday, your prescription will be ready by Wednesday.

If you have recently registered with the practice and you are on repeat medication you must make an appointment with your new GP, prior to repeat medication requests being made.

You can order your repeat prescriptions using the online form. You must be permanently registered with the Practice before we can accept your request. Patients who have a temporary registration at the Practice are not permitted to use the online repeat medication form.

Requests can also be made by letter, phone or on-line . Remember it is your responsibility or your carer’s, to ensure you order your repeat medication on time, always allow extra time for weekends and public holidays, and also in the event of postal and/or technical problems.

Please do not request medication you have never been prescribed or a medication you haven’t had in the last 6 months (excluding seasonal medication).

Please do not phone to confirm if your prescription is ready.

All medication requests made, are available for collection by your nominated pharmacy after two full working days. Non-repeat medication(Special) requests are not automatically issued. We will telephone you to advise your request was not authorised. You may require to speak to your Doctor to further discuss your request.
