Pharmacy services are taking a “crucial role” in Scotland, most GP surgeries now have access to a pharmacist or a pharmacy technician with advanced clinical skills.
Pharmacists with advanced clinical skills and pharmacy technicians in GP practices will improve pharmaceutical care and contribute to the multidisciplinary team.
We have a Pharmacy Team based in the practice who undertake a variety of roles. You may see one of our pharmacy team for a face to face medication review or receive a telephone consultation. This may be in relation to hypertension (controlling your blood pressure), pain, diabetes, respiratory or a general medication review. Our pharmacy team also deal with a variety of medication related activities such as hospital discharges, out patient letters and new patient registrations. The pharmacy team are part of the GP practice multidisciplinary team to support the safe, quality and cost-effective use of medicines. We are here to support and help you get the most out of your medicines.
